Ava's Tropical Dreams- Life aboard Tropical Dreams
Life aboard Tropical Dreams!
I am sorry I posted this late. However, yesterday we were out sailing with our grandparents for most of the day.
This week I have interviewed the captain on how he is liking living aboard Tropical Dreams. Sadly, after trying many times, I have realised that the videos will not work. Instead, here is a few snippets of what our captain said:
How do you like living on a boat? "I love it, this boat has been great for us as a family. Lots of space and a spare cabin for guests to come and stay! One of our favourite spots is up at the helm as there is such a great view of the sea! We absolutely love the lay-out of this boat."
What's different about living in a house to living on a boat? "Lots of things tend to break randomly most days so there is lots of fixing to be done and maintenance. It's a completely different way of life, checking all the different systems like solar to make sure we have enough battery to make sure everything works properly."
HOME SCHOOL
Whilst living aboard the boat, me and my sister have to home school. Most days, we enjoying learning on the boat. However, occasionally, when you are living on a boat in the Caribbean with turquoise ocean around you, the last thing you want to do is school work. Every day, we do around 5 lessons from 8:30am-10:30 or 11am. Some days, we are doing homeschooling for 2 hours and some days 3 hours, it depends on how much we want to do it and our lesson plan for the day!
Me and my dad have been working on Free Diving. Free Diving is diving with goggles but no tank or snorkel. So far I have only dived 25ft but I want to take a course which will help me to hold my breath longer and go deeper! Here is a video of me free diving around 25ft under a table at the underwater statues!
Visitors!!!
Last Saturday, my grandparents came to see us! We were really happy when we met them at the airport. Yesterday, we went for a two hour sail and went from the east side of the island to the south side. While sailing, we saw 2 HUMONGOUS turtles. My grandparents really enjoyed sailing!
I am going to take two weeks off from doing these blogs as we will still be in Grenada, so the next time I will post one will be when we have hopefully moved or almost moved. Speak soon, Ava 😄

Great blog Ava. Very descriptive and really well written. Loved the free diving video- I'm very impressed! Also glad to hear the Captain is keeping busy- I'd hate to think of him having time on his hands 😂. Have a great time with the grandparents this week too. I think they should join in with your home schooling lessons to get the full boat life experience 😁xxx🥰
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, it does get annoying when dad has time as he tries to take the boat apart and fix it! Yes grandma and grandad have joined in a little bit, grandad did a math quiz I created!!
