 Out of the marina at last!

After a fun-filled week at the marina, it was finally time to leave! We left the day after my dad got back from a work show in Monaco. We were glad he was back on the boat as he had been ill in Monaco. Luckily, he recovered quickly! 

Here are some bullet points of the best parts of the week...

  • Hanging out with friends at the marina- Even though when my dad came back we wanted to leave, we had lots of fun with friends. One night we even had a 'movie night' on the dock! I also got to have a sleep over with one of my best friends on their boat!
  • Grandpa and Michelle staying with us- We were very lucky as while we were on the dock our Grandpa came to stay with us. It was the first time we had seen them in 2 years!
  •   Live music- One of the nights at Le Phare Bleu, there was a band for live music. We had lots of fun watching them, they were very good.
  •  Sailing!- A few days ago, we sailed to Prickly Bay Marina from Le Phare Bleu. I love it when we go sailing as you get a nice breeze and get to have fun helping with the sails and lines. We even got the boat sailing 9.2 knots which is good for a 44ft catamaran full of water, fuel and stuff! I even got to drive the boat into the bay!
  •  Relaxing- In Prickly Bay it is very nice and relaxing on anchor. There is a lovely beach as well which Grandpa and Michelle are in an apartment near. We often paddle board to the beach from our boat! We also made a rope ladder out of webbing straps and it worked!
  • Decorate!- The other day, I decorated my room with pictures of friends and family. There were loads of pictures, it brings back good memories from home!
     

What next?

Today, we are going on a island tour to see waterfalls and swim in them, a chocolate factory and much more! After staying here, we think that we are going to go back to Morne Rouge (BBC Beach) as we love it there. We are going to take Grandpa and Michelle as well as they have never been there and we want to show them.

Ava's Tropical Dreams- No going back

 No going back... On Sunday, we deep cleaned our house as the renter moved in this week.  Please bear in mind that this was not your daily clean like we are used to, this was a 'clean every inch of the house' deep clean.  That meant we had to clean all of the windows, which I do not recommend after cleaning 53 of them! Hoover every single room and the stairs (which is actually not as bad as the window cleaning) and make sure the toilets were sparkling -which my mum did.  At least, we are pretty much finished.  Where are we right now? As we have just deep cleaned the house and the renter moved in this week, my grandparents have very kindly let us use their house as they have gone on holiday to Wales. All of our things are now here with us at my grandparents house. What can we take?  Now, for anyone who does not know, a boat is not as big as a house (even if the boat has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms) so we can not take everything we own. Ava's Tropical Dreams- Lots of exploring and a week on the dock...

Lots of exploring and a week on the dock... I have done lots of things that I need to tell you about! First of all, in my last blog (at the end) I told you that we were going to go back to Woburn Bay. However, that did not happen as lots of our friends were going back to Morne Rouge on their own boats so we decided to go with them. We had another fun filled weekend at Morne Rouge with lots of swimming and playing.  While we were there, we visited the underwater sculpture park. The underwater sculpture park is an area of sea, which was by a coral reef, where there are lots of statues of people and objects underwater! It was really cool and my favourite statue was a man that was sat at his desk with a computer in front of him! We also saw a massive leather back turtle!  After visiting Morne Rouge we went to Le Phare Bleu to stay on our boat at the marina as my dad went for a work trip and my grandpa is visiting.
