Ava's Tropical Dreams- Island tour!
🌸Island Tour!🌸
Last Friday, we went on an island tour around the whole Island with my family, grandpa and Michelle! Here are some things we did while on the island tour...
Chocolate factory!
The first stop on our tour was to the Tri Island chocolate company. They let us try samples of their chocolate and honeycomb and it was delicious 😋. As well as that, they showed us the plants they use for making their chocolate (cocoa beans, cinnamon, nutmeg...). At the end of the tour I bought myself a bar of chocolate 🍫which was 80% cocoa! It's very strong but really nice.
Annandale Falls!
The next stop we made was to Annandale Falls. We went to the waterfall and got to swim in the natural pool at the bottom and jump into the natural pool! The water was cold and refreshing which was lovely as it was so hot. There was also this man who jumped from the top of the waterfall and cannon-balled into the natural pool! It looked petrifying! We swam for around an hour and when we had to leave I was really sad as I did not want to leave the cold water!
Short stops we did:
Along the way we also did a few short stops. We had a look at their Parliament building (which looks a bit like the White House) and I was shocked when our driver told us we were parking in the car park! You could even go inside if you wanted to, but we didn't. For lunch we did a quick stop where we got chicken rotis. For anyone who doesn't know, a chicken roti is spicy chicken with curried potato in a wrap.
Taxi Driver/ Tour Guide:
Our taxi driver was called Foxy. Foxy was also our tour guide and told us many fun facts about Grenada and showed us lots of cool things. I found out many things from him, one being that the Grenadian flag is actually red, green and GOLD, not yellow!
Villa!!!
On Wednesday, we went to our friends villa! They live on a boat, but their grandparents are staying and their boat is out 'on the hard' (out of the water in a shipyard) at the moment so they booked a local villa. We were invited over there the other day to have dinner and play in the pool and it was so much fun! Lots of our friends came so we were playing games in the pool.
Stunning sunsets and an amazing full moon:
On Sunday night, there was an amazing full moon! After a nice sunset, a full moon rose as we watched in utter amazement at how big it was.
Also, on Thursday night we had the best sunset we have had so far. The whole sky was iridescent colours! We sat on the bow watching the sky change colour.
